THREE Warrnambool youngsters claimed state titles yesterday in the Victorian Schools Singles table tennis competition.
A first place to Hamilton senior player Nathan Vanhees made the south-west the strongest region at the event.
Warrnambool Table Tennis Association president Mark Taylor said it was a high-quality tournament.
"There were a lot of stand-out performances, everybody had to play great table tennis. You don't win a state title just for turning up," he said.
Warrnambool winners were Brandon Lacey (primary), Ben Taylor (junior) and Emma Manderson (junior).
Warrnambool's Hamish Porter and Micaela Farrer finished with third placings.
