JUNIOR sedan driver Peter Kinnear raced away with Laang Speedway Club's top award for the 2007-08 season.
The Brauer College student received the club's driver of the year award, decided on the highest average meeting points.
Kinnear, who pilots a Warrnambool-registered Datsun sedan, had a productive season at Laang.
He won the junior sedans A division aggregate from Daniel McKean and James Gardiner, as well as the four-round King of Skids Series.
The succession of young faces on the presentation stage continued when 10-year-old Dion Bellman won the Laang club aggregate from brothers Cameron and Daniel McKean. All race in the junior sedan class.
Warrnambool sprintcar driver Jamie Veal was awarded the president's trophy for the drive of the year at Laang.
Veal stepped into a NOS sprint to contest a 50-lap feature and twice came from rear of field to finish second.
Club stalwart Neville Pike was awarded life membership for his services to Laang Speedway across three decades.
A key figure in developing the junior sedan class, he is still involved as a scrutineer on race nights.
